Distributed solar PV is uniquely positioned to empower people, communities, and countries to take the energy transition into their own hands and become more resilient. Not only this, the technology can be an important driver of new jobs, economic opportunities, energy access, and sustainable development. However, despite distributed solar PV’s massive potential, legislative and regulatory bottlenecks remain an obstacle for many countries to realize its benefits.

This high-level event will bring together policymakers, industry, activists, and community leaders to discuss how to realize the immense potential of distributed solar. From exploring the real-world impacts of existing projects, to discussing key tools to scale-up deployment – this event will be an important platform to bring together all the stakeholders needed to catalyze the distributed solar revolution.

This event is organized by the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the Global Solar Council with funding from the European Union (EU) and supported by the Global Renewables Alliance (GRA).

America’s new energy leaders face an inflection point.

There’s ample funding to transform our energy systems. And even more importantly: a recent permitting reform agreed upon in Washington stands to catalyze major projects.

Permitting had plagued the rapid deployment of renewable and storage technologies in major projects across the country - the federal government’s recent action changes that.

It means the pressure is on. Public and private leaders need to work together to deploy clean technology and drive the clean energy transition - fast. To shape the execution of advanced energy systems in a manner that benefits every American.

A special session of CityAge New York, held in partnership with Siemens and United for Infrastructure during Climate Week - will look at how to seize this opportunity.

Join Imagine5 and Project Drawdown for an immersive and transformative workshop on Environmental Justice Storytelling, where we explore the intersection of personal narratives and environmentalism. This empowering event aims to equip participants with a toolkit of environmental justice tips and interview techniques to uncover and share stories that resonate with the rich tapestry of environmental origins.

Environmental justice calls for a deep understanding of how environmental issues intersect with social, racial, and economic inequalities. By harnessing the power of storytelling, we can create empathy, raise awareness, and foster change within our communities. This workshop encourages participants to engage in meaningful conversations, capture personal narratives, and highlight the inter-connectedness of our environmental journeys.

This discussion will be facilitated by Kiana Kazemi and Justin Cadelago of Imagine 5, Matt Scott and Drew Arrieta of Project Drawdown, and Jothsna Harris of Change Narrative.
