🎨 Ecosystem Restoration Mural - NYC

The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration is a rallying call for the protection and revival of ecosystems to enhance people’s livelihoods, counteract climate change, and stop the collapse of biodiversity. Street Art for Mankind (SAM) is partnering with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to amplify the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, with a massive 10-year mural campaign of #EcosystemRestorationMurals around the world.

The goal is to unite local and global initiatives and highlight concrete action plans as we are “the last generation that can make peace with nature.” The Ecosystem Restoration Mural of New York, created by Mexican artist Carlos Alberto and curated by SAM on the spectacular wall of the Javits Convention Center, will highlight the importance of biodiversity and tree equity to address the challenge of climate change.

For this initiative, SAM will also partner with the Javits Center, New York State and New York City and the mural will kick-off Climate Week NYC, the summit that takes place alongside the UN General Assembly. This mural is made possible thanks to the support of Diageo, a participant of the UN Global Compact.
