Britton Jones founded NXT Events Media Group to be a purpose driven producer of world-class events dedicated to making the world a better place. Early in 2020, NXT Events became the producers of The Nest, an event creating a unifying destination for climate action during Climate Week NYC. Britton has grown The Nest, a virtual climate action event, into an in-person, inclusive Climate Campus attracting more than 4,000 attendees in 2022.

Prior to founding NXT Events Media Group, Britton Jones was the driving force in building the BJI Fashion Group, the Trade Show Division of Business Journals Inc., into one of the world’s leading trade show organizers. Under Britton’s leadership, the BJI grew explosively from one show in 1997 to running 27 events annually by 2015, becoming one of the largest users of the Javits Center in NYC (21 events per year) and 6 events per year at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. In 2016, Britton sold Business Journals Inc to United Business Media and Leftfield Media (a company he co-founded in 2014) to Clarion Events.

Britton has consistently worked to give back to the events industry. Britton currently serves on NYC & Co's Sustainability and Events Councils and has served on the Boards and as the Chairman of the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) and American Business Media’s (ABM) Trade Show Council. In 2015, Britton was awarded the Trade Show News Network Industry Icon Award for industry innovation and service. In 2016, Britton also received the industry’s top award, the Robert L. Krakoff Leadership Award.

In his penchant for community service, Britton also joined the Board of Food Rescue US (FRUS) in 2013 and has served as Board Chairman since 2015. The nonprofit has grown dramatically during his leadership, now operating in 41 locations across 21 states. Britton spearheaded the collaboration between the Climate Campus and Food Rescue US, rescuing all leftover food from the Climate Campus in 2022 and delivering it to a local social services agency.

"There is no greater satisfaction than knowing you are contributing to a cause greater than yourself. Seeing the passion and dedication of individuals and organizations alike, coming together to create actionable solutions for a more sustainable future, is what makes The Nest Climate Campus so fulfilling. It's not just an event, it's a catalyst for change."

Sharon is the President & COO of NXT Events Media Group. A veteran to the events industry, Sharon began her career at Reed Expositions with a part-time job. Unbeknownst to her, it was the precursor to a lifelong career as she quickly embraced the live events industry. Sharon found home with many leading organizations throughout her career, including CMC, Reed Expositions, and Business Journals.

Sharon’s experience at CMC and Reed Exhibitions was immensely rewarding and educational, as she produced events in a variety of markets across an array of partnership structures. With a desire to further her role in trade show management, Sharon joined Business Journals, Inc. (BJI) to build out their trade show division.

This was a unique opportunity to start with a company from the onset, as Sharon quickly became an asset to the development and growth of the portfolio. In an extremely competitive industry and challenging environments, she rose to EVP of the trade show portfolio. Using her design thinking, innovative approach to events and financial acumen, Sharon guided BJI’s award-winning growth from 3 events to 27 events annually.

Sharon is also the President & COO for The Nest Climate Campus. In the four years to-date that NXT Events Media Group took over the event, it has gone from a broadcast in 2020 to a fully developed on-demand/in-person campus in 2022 proving a model for enhanced engagement to advance climate solutions. And 2023+ is continuing this growth trajectory.

"Having spent my entire career in the events industry, I've always known and enjoyed how events drive meaningful engagement and value for a community. Building out The Nest Climate Campus has provided an opportunity to combine my passion for events with my desire to make a positive impact on the planet, which is extremely gratifying."
