Sustainability at The Nest Campus 2026

The Making of a Sustainable Event

The mission of The Nest Campus is to unite the resilience economy under one roof during Climate Week NYC. Resilience means not just adapting to a changing climate, but actively working to mitigate its worst effects. Beyond bringing the community together in one place, reducing the need for travel across multiple Climate Week events, we have forged partnerships with incredible organizations to ensure the campus experience itself reflects the values we champion.

DRIVING TOWARD AN ELECTRIC FUTURE

UBER ELECTRIC

DRIVING TOWARD AN ELECTRIC FUTURE

Uber is building an electric future. As the world's largest mobility platform, Uber is transforming how people move through cities and electrification is core to its mission, with investment in EV driver incentives, charging infrastructure, and electric ride options. As an Official Nest Campus partner, Uber is offering all attendees an exclusive discount on EV rides helping attendees travel more sustainably around the city during Climate Week NYC. Because how we get here matters too. Use code NYCLIMATEWEEK in the Uber app.

SUSTAINABLE-FIRST APPROACH TO FOOD SERVICE

CULTIVATED

SUSTAINABLE-FIRST APPROACH TO FOOD SERVICE

Cultivated, the food and beverage partner at Javits Center, leads with a sustainability-first approach to every menu — vegetarian and vegan-forward, with sustainably sourced meat options. By focusing on local sourcing, plant-forward dishes, and waste reduction, Cultivated delivers fresh, flavorful meals built around responsible consumption.
REDUCING FOOD WASTE AND HUNGER

FOOD RESCUE US

REDUCING FOOD WASTE AND HUNGER

If food waste were a country, it would rank as the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases on the planet. It's a staggering reality — and one that Food Rescue US is powerfully, positively impacting every single day. Working directly with the Cultivated team, our volunteer food rescuers recover surplus, prepared campus food and deliver it to local hunger-relief agencies. Every rescued meal delivers a double impact: feeding people while protecting the planet. Look for our booth on Campus, and Join The Rescue today.

IMPACT

  • 285M+ lbs of CO2eq prevented
  • Equal to removing 30,154 gas-powered cars from the road for a year

ENABLING WASTE SORTING & DIVERSION

JAVITS CENTER

ENABLING WASTE SORTING & DIVERSION

Javits Center is reducing its environmental impact from the ground up. Approximately 10% of its energy comes from solar power, and the campus plays an important role in the regional grid Demand Response Program.

On-site waste is sorted and diverted throughout the full event lifecycle—from move-in through move-out—including recyclables, organics and reusable materials. Through JavitsCares, the Center's community donation program, leftover furniture, display shelving and other materials are donated to New Yorkers in need.

New at The Nest Climate Campus is a closed-loop, sustainable water-bottling system that provides filtered water in reusable bottles, which are collected, sanitized and refilled on-site. Receptacles placed throughout the show floor allow guests to conveniently return their bottles for reuse.

TURNING NAME TAGS INTO NEW MATERIALS

TERRACYCLE

TURNING NAME TAGS INTO NEW MATERIALS

Through our use of the TerraCycle Name Tag and Lanyard Zero Waste Box, every name tag and lanyard gets sorted and given a second life. Paper is hydro-pulped and recycled into new paper products. Textiles are separated by fabric type, shredded, and repurposed as filler for mattresses, pet bedding, insulation, and equipment. Plastics are sorted, cleaned, and blended into new recycled materials.

STATS

  • 2 Large + 1 Medium Zero Waste Boxes collected on Campus
MATERIALS THAT WORK HARDER

T3 EXPO

MATERIALS THAT WORK HARDER

Every material on this campus was chosen with its next life in mind.

  • Signage: Printed on Falcon Board honeycomb cardboard — a sustainable, plastic-free alternative to rigid signage — and headed straight for the cardboard baler post-event.
  • Fabric banners: Saved and reused across multiple years wherever possible.
  • Clings / adhesive graphics: Selected with end-of-life materials in mind.
  • Carpet: Alma carpet is 100% recyclable; based on volume, Alma or T3 collects and recycles it at their own warehouse.
