Conversations about meat and dairy are too often framed in binary terms. Debates about what role meat can play in sustainable, healthy diets are often black and white, overlooking nuances related to health and nutrition, interplay of animal- and plant-sourced foods, and livelihoods and experiences of producers who manage land, animals, and food systems on the ground, the interplay of animal- and plant-sourced foods in dietary patterns, and the livelihoods and experience of the producers who manage land, animals, and food systems on the ground.

This full-day program brings together producers, researchers, investors, innovators, and policymakers to explore a more complete vision of sustainable diets, one that integrates human health and consumer choice, environmental outcomes, and economic viability.

Aligned with the International Year of the Woman Farmer and the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, the event will build common ground and advance real solutions centered on real-world experience, evidence, and systems thinking.

Commodity supply chain disruptions impact local and global economies and are expected to grow in frequency and severity. Habitat conversion, climate change, and degradation of key natural resources reduce natural buffers and commodity supply chains are becoming more vulnerable. Yet the connection between conservation actions and resilient supply is not sufficiently quantified to continue building a strong case for investment in nature-based solutions.

Conservation International and Procter & Gamble are convening a closed-door working session during Climate Week NYC to address a shared need: strengthening the quantitative, evidence-based links between nature-based actions and commodity supply resilience.
All stakeholders need clearer, quantitative evidence of how nature action can improve commodity supply resilience while also delivering benefits for nature. Companies need credible data to build the financial case for investment in landscape-scale conservation and restoration. Nature project managers require stronger science and analytics to secure funding, design effective interventions, and demonstrate impact.

Grounded in a practical case study in North Sumatra, the session will use oil palm as an illustrative example with broader relevance across commodities and regions. A panel of experts will share insights on the science, data, and modeling needed to quantify the value of nature-based actions in strengthening commodity supply chains, highlight remaining knowledge gaps, and engage audience participants in identifying priorities for future research and action.

The working session will focus on identifying both what evidence exists today and the most critical gaps. The objective is to produce a gap analysis on the research, data, analytics, and partnerships needed to strengthen the investment case for nature action to support more resilient commodity supply.

Communities across the country know more than ever about the climate risks they face—and increasingly know what solutions are needed. Yet too many resilience and adaptation efforts still struggle to move from plans and promising pilots to implementation at scale.

Scaling resilience requires more than funding alone. It requires an enabling policy environment, institutions and partnerships capable of developing and delivering solutions, and financial strategies that recognize and capture the value of reduced risk.
This Climate Week program brings those pieces together.

Through a connected series of conversations on public policy, community-university partnerships, and resilience finance, leaders from across sectors will examine what it takes to move resilience solutions from ideas to implementation—and from individual projects to broader systems change.

The sessions will explore three interconnected questions:

- What rules need to change? How can state and public policy remove barriers, strengthen local capacity, and create the conditions for resilience solutions to scale?

- What partnerships can accelerate implementation? How can universities, communities, governments, and other institutions combine research, technical expertise, lived experience, and implementation capacity to turn knowledge into action?

- How do we mobilize capital at scale? How can communities and infrastructure owners better connect risk reduction and resilience value to project development, investment, insurance, and innovative financing strategies?

Across the program, participants will move beyond identifying challenges to examine promising models already being tested, the barriers preventing them from scaling, and the actions different institutions can take to unlock progress.

The program is designed to:

- Clarify the distinct and complementary roles of government, finance, philanthropy, universities, communities, and the private sector in moving resilience solutions from concept to implementation.

- Surface promising approaches that can be replicated, adapted, or scaled across communities and regions.

- Build connections among organizations that control different pieces of the resilience implementation puzzle.

- Identify practical opportunities for collaboration, experimentation, and follow-on action beyond Climate Week.

The program is intended for state and local government leaders; infrastructure owners and operators; financial institutions and investors; insurers and risk experts; philanthropy; professional associations; legal and policy organizations; universities; technical assistance providers; community-serving organizations; and national and international resilience practitioners.

Regenerative agriculture is increasingly central to corporate climate strategies, supply chain resilience, and agricultural innovation. Success depends on a shared understanding of what regenerative agriculture means, how it is measured, and how it can be implemented and scaled.

Hosted by Field to Market, this full-day Climate Week NYC event brings together leaders from across the agricultural value chain, including farmers, brands, agribusinesses, standard setters, sustainability organizations, researchers, and technical experts.

The program follows a practical journey:

Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and real-world projects, attendees will gain practical insights into how organizations across the value chain are working together to advance regenerative agriculture through measurable outcomes and collaborative action.

Using the bilateral cooperation between Peru and Singapore as a core case study, the event will explore how Verra's new VM0048 methodology can meet strict sovereign buyer criteria for ITMOs by ensuring a jurisdictional-like foundation—aligning project-scale baselines with national risk maps—and delivering compliance-grade rigor through its ICVCM Core Carbon Principles qualification.
