The Race Below is an interactive, immersive experience created by 11th Hour Racing to promote education about ocean health and encourage guests to take action on the Campus from September 24th-26th. From January 2022 to July 2023, The Race Below was part of the stopover experience for The Ocean Race as it traveled to nine locations worldwide following the sailboats competing in the world's longest and toughest professional sporting event. At each site, guests discovered The Race Below, becoming immersed in the ocean and learning about local NGOs in their communities and how they can help to keep their waters clean and live sustainably. Guests are led through a ten-minute journey by 'the ocean' and 'the sailor' to learn about the race both above and below the surface of our ocean. They immerse themselves in a room full of projections with a 10ft tall hologram as the centerpiece and are surrounded by a montage of adrenaline-inducing videos of sailors racing across the ocean's surface.
