In parts of Europe, more than 90% of bottles and cans are recycled back into new packaging. Deposit return schemes have quietly built one of the most effective circular systems in the consumer economy — and they're now expanding to reusable food and beverage packaging. The US, by contrast, remains a patchwork of state bottle bills and corporate pledges. This session explores what makes circular packaging systems actually work and how we can implement them at scale.
