Rachel Ramirez is an award-winning independent climate journalist based in New York City. Previously the climate reporter at CNN, she covered the climate crisis, clean energy, and environmental justice. Her reporting has appeared in Grist, The Guardian, Financial Times, Vox, Rolling Stone, and HuffPost, among other publications. She is also the founder and writer behind The Confluence, an independent newsletter exploring ocean science and marine governance. Born and raised in the Northern Mariana Islands, Rachel brings a distinct Pacific island perspective to global climate coverage.
