Massimiliano Vitale
Co-founder and COO, Xoople
Massimiliano is a senior technology and operations executive with 30 years of experience across the Earth Observation industry, spanning commercial missions, ground segment engineering, and large-scale cloud-native data processing. As COO of Xoople, he leads Mission Operations, Product Engineering, and Information Technology, scaling operational capabilities and product delivery as Earth intelligence becomes embedded in enterprise decision-making.
Prior to Xoople, Massimiliano held senior leadership roles at Planet, where he led EMEA operations and global imagery and analytics teams, supporting the growth of key product lines including PlanetScope, SkySat, and Pelican.
Earlier, he was Project Leader at Datamat SpA (a Telespazio company), working on ground segment programmes for the European Space Agency and other national space agencies, and later led engineering teams supporting six ESA facilities across
Europe. Massimiliano holds an MSc with honours in Computer Engineering from the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
