Marilyn Waite

CEO, Capital for Sustainability

Marilyn currently leads Capital for Sustainability (C4S), a philanthropic initiative to mobilize private capital for climate solutions in the Global South. She previously led the climate finance portfolio at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation (and Climate Finance Fund), the energy practice at Village Capital, energy modeling as a senior research fellow at Project Drawdown, and innovation projects at Orano and Framatome (formerly AREVA). Author of Sustainability at Work: careers that make a difference, Marilyn’s writing has been featured in outlets such as the Financial Times, Le Monde, and the Boston Globe. She previously served as editor-at-large at Trellis and currently contributes to Impact Alpha on sustainable investing. Marilyn also teaches ESG Strategies for the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po Paris. She holds a Master’s Degree with distinction in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, magna cum laude, from Princeton University. Marilyn serves on multiple boards and investment committees, including Climate First Bank.
