Lora Anguay
CEO & General Manager, Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD)
Lora Anguay, who previously served as SMUD’s first Chief Zero Carbon Officer, was named Chief Executive Officer & General Manager in June 2026. As CEO, Anguay leads the sixth largest community-owned electric utility in the nation serving a population of 1.6 million residents and managing a $2.3 billion budget. A 22-year SMUD veteran, Anguay actively architected the strategies currently transforming our region’s energy landscape. Anguay received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento.
