Jens Nielsen
Founder and CEO, World Climate Foundation (WCF)
Jens is the Founder and CEO of WCF, a global platform for action in the transition economy, established to help build and scale the markets of the Next Economy. Founded in response to the limited inclusivity and fragmented nature of international climate
engagement, WCF was created to connect the actors shaping the future global economy - across finance, industry, government, technology, and civil society - and accelerate the implementation of market-driven climate and nature solutions.
Under Jens’ leadership, WCF has evolved into a globally recognised platform operating at the intersection of climate, nature, capital, and geopolitics. Through its summits, coalitions, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships, WCF helps align leaders, mobilise investment, and build the frameworks and alliances needed to drive resilient, net-zero and nature-positive growth. Jens has led the development of flagship initiatives including the World Climate Summit and the World Biodiversity Summit, alongside sector-focused coalitions advancing investment and market transformation across energy, mining, food systems, critical minerals, and nature markets. Among these initiatives is the Climate Investment Coalition, which mobilised a US$130 billion clean energy commitment from Nordic and UK pension funds and helped pioneer collaborative finance models for the green transition.
Before founding WCF, Jens held senior roles at PwC, Cision PR Newswire, Mitsubishi Electric, and within government institutions, building expertise across finance, corporate strategy, communications, technology, and market reform.
