Anna Rathmann
Executive Director, Jane Goodall Institute USA
Anna is the Executive Director of the Jane Goodall Institute USA, where she leads the conservation organization’s work to create a better world for people, other animals, and our shared environment. Anna guides JGI’s operations and programs both in the U.S. and across chimpanzee habitat in Africa. Through strategic partnerships and thought leadership, she cultivates opportunities that advance and support the Jane Goodall Institute’s work in wildlife research and rehabilitation, habitat restoration and protection, community-led development, and youth engagement.
Since joining the Jane Goodall Institute executive team in 2021, Anna has elevated JGI’s role as a thriving organization, including ensuring Dr. Jane Goodall’s remarkable legacy continues following her 2025 passing. Anna’s career in conservation also includes roles at the National Park Service, National Geographic, and throughout Africa bridging science, education, and storytelling.
