A fifth-generation Washingtonian, Inslee developed his environmental ethic in the Cascades and worked his way through college before becoming a lawyer and raising a family in Selah. His political journey began with a successful grassroots campaign for local education funding, leading to roles in the Washington State House and U.S. Congress, where he became a national leader on climate and tech policy.
