# Food & Agriculture: A Surprisingly Pressing Environmental Issue

Food – from production to waste - accounts for approximately 24 % of greenhouse gas emissions, almost equal to the 25% stemming from electricity generation.

In this session, Dr. Jonathan Foley of Project Drawdown details the core environmental issues of agriculture today. Solutions include better food choices, environmentally responsible production and the minimization of waste. Food Rescue US shares how its organization is reducing both hunger and food waste and Regenerative Organic Alliance examines the power of building thriving food systems through regenerative organic agriculture.
